Associate & Special Assistant to the Vice Chair
Anand K. Raghuraman is an Associate and Special Assistant to the Vice Chair with The Asia Group focusing on the firm’s India portfolio. He provides research and analytical support to clients with interests in India across multiple sectors, including defense, energy, technology, pharmaceuticals, and autos.
Prior to joining The Asia Group, Anand served as a Brent Scowcroft Award Fellow at the Aspen Strategy Group, where he spearheaded the planning and execution of the U.S.-India Strategic Dialogue and Aspen Strategy Group Summer Workshop. He also provided speechwriting and business development support to the Aspen Ministers Forum, a premier initiative of foreign ministers chaired by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
Anand also brings experience from his work at the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center, where he conducted research on India’s ambitious solar energy targets and Japan’s post-Fukushima energy security strategy. He also worked at the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, where he covered the Asia-Pacific defense portfolio and authored an original white paper recommending improvements to the State Department’s strategic planning process.
Anand holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Duke University, where he concentrated on international security and American grand strategy. He is proficient in Tamil and conversational in Turkish.
