Beth Kroman is an Analyst at the Asia Group. She works within TAG Analytics, the firm’s research service, assisting in the production of in-depth analysis to provide clients with critical insight on economic and political developments across the Indo-Pacific region.
Prior to joining The Asia Group, Beth taught English and mathematics in a public high school in southern Thailand as a Princeton in Asia Fellow. In this capacity, Beth worked to foster cultural diplomacy and promote education in rural areas of Thailand. Prior to living in Thailand, Beth served in the Department of State’s (DoS) Bureau of Intelligence and Research supporting the coordination and collaboration of technical intelligence collection across the intelligence community. Previously, Beth conducted due diligence research in Arabic, Spanish, and English for Kroll Advisory Solutions. While there, she performed red-flag analysis of individuals and corporations and delivered bespoke reports to clients.
Beth received her master’s degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She graduated summa cum laude from the George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in international relations. As a DoS Critical Language Scholarship recipient, Beth spent a summer abroad in Malang, Indonesia where she attended intensive language courses and cultural programs. She speaks Indonesian, Malaysian, Arabic, and Spanish proficiently, as well as conversational Thai and Norwegian.
