David Hudson is a Senior Advisor to The Asia Group.
Prior to working with The Asia Group, Hudson served as Senior Advisor to Darby Overseas Private Equity’s investment operations in Asia. Mr. Hudson was previously Senior Managing Director overseeing Darby’s Asia investment activities and operations, after having joined Darby in 2008. Hudson also led Darby Overseas Investments’ Global Infrastructure initiatives and Latin America Mezzanine operations.
Mr. Hudson has over 30 years of experience in commercial and investment banking in the emerging markets. Prior to joining Darby, Mr. Hudson was at ING Group where he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ING Bank and ING Securities, Asia Pacific, and most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer, Americas, Wholesale Banking for ING Group. Previously, Mr. Hudson was Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Salomon Brothers and President and Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific at JP Morgan.
Mr. Hudson has extensive infrastructure sector experience in the corporate banking and investment banking fields, focusing on the Emerging Markets of Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Throughout his career, responsibilities and successes in the infrastructure field include origination, execution, negotiation, and closing of investments, risk/credit assessments and approvals, resource allocation, managing infrastructure focused business units, and developing strategies for infrastructure opportunities.
In addition to his position with The Asia Group, Hudson serves as an Advisory Partner to Shaw Kwei & Partners, a Hong Kong-based private equity firm.
Mr. Hudson earned his Bachelor of Arts and M.B.A. at University of Virginia.
