Nadia Bulkin is a Senior Associate with The Asia Group, where she is the defense industrial team lead. In this capacity, Nadia provides defense clients with strategic and analytical support, including the development and management of complex sales campaigns across the Asia-Pacific. She also leverages her extensive research background in the nuances of Southeast Asian politics to provide detailed political and economic assessments for clients seeking to offset risks and expand their presence in the dynamic and ever-evolving ASEAN markets.
At The Asia Group, Nadia applies a project management focus to client support that is instrumental to winning intensive Asian defense procurement bids. She has implemented numerous comprehensive capture strategies that have helped The Asia Group’s clients secure upwards of USD 10 billion in new sales contracts in Asia. Nadia is also an expert in Asia-Pacific national defense budgets and civil-military relations, providing clients with unique understanding of changing opportunities in regional defense spending.
Prior to joining The Asia Group, Nadia worked in research and analytical capacities at think tanks in the United States and Asia, including the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Jakarta, Indonesia. She brings to The Asia Group proven experience in conducting broad-based analysis of the complex challenges impacting business development, government procurement, and political stability in Southeast Asia. Prior to her research positions, Nadia used her substantial background in Indonesia to support the U.S. Government’s Consulate in Surabaya, Indonesia, in navigating local political dynamics and understanding how domestic nationalistic trends affect Indonesia’s foreign policy calculus.
Nadia holds an Master of Arts in International Affairs from American University’s School of International Service and graduated summa cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a double-minor in Economics and Environmental Science. She is fluent in Indonesian.
